A Wet & Windy Day In Windsor - Travel Diary

Wednesday, 24 August 2016
If you follow me on my social media, you will already know that Ive just come back from a family holiday in Windsor. Its a beautiful little town just west of London. We actually went to Windsor because we spend three days in Legoland- which was f.y.i so much fun!

On the Friday, we actually went into the town centre to explore a little bit and of course the weather was wet that day. But it definitely didnt ruin our day out or ruin how beautiful Windsor is.

Now obviously you cannot go to Windsor without visiting Windsor castle and Im a full on nerd when it comes to things like that so we decided to head there straight away.  You couldn't actually take photos in most of the inside of the castle but I got loads of the castle grounds to share with you all.

After 2 solid hours exploring the castle, we went for a walk around the town itself. Windsor reminds me a lot of Stratford-upon-avon and Coventry. You can understand why so many people come and visit Windsor because it is the perfect textbook image of England.

Directly opposite Windsor castle is the old victorian train station that was converted into a shopping centre. They have shops like AVEDA and JAEGER and most importantly Jo Malone. I finally smelt some Jo Malone fragrances and candles people!! I was in the store for ages having a good old whiff of every fragrance. My favourite is Grapefruit, Pomegranate Noir and English Pear & Freesia for those of you wondering. Although I would probably need a mortgage to buy all of those scents!

I hope you enjoyed my little travel diary from Windsor. Let me know if you'd like to see more posts like this in the future.

The Everyday Lipstick Edit

Wednesday, 17 August 2016

Dont get me wrong, its nice to wear a bright and bold lip sometimes but its not really ideal for "everyday" living.

I have a tonne of nude and pink lipsticks because thats pretty much all I wear. Its so much easier not worrying about whether or not you need to reapply a hot pink lip or trying to match a lip colour to your eye makeup.

I have rounded up my top 8 "everyday" lipsticks.

Revlon colourburst lip butter in 047 pink lemonade- This is the sheerest formula lipstick I have, its more of a lip balm. Its a great lipstick to have on "no makeup" days and its super hydrating.

MAC Modesty- I love dark nudey brown lipsticks. They are so easy to wear and they give that little bold pop without being in your face which I hate.

L'oreal Color Riche lipstick in Cheryl's Nude

MAC Pure Zen- I love the cremesheen formula because its so easy to wear and it doesnt dry out your lips. It has a slight shimmer and shine & Pure Zen is the perfect nude-pink for everyday at work or school.

MAC Brave- its very similar to modesty but it has more of a rosey pink to it. This is my usual go-to lipstick for every occasion.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creme in London- If you havent tried these lipsticks then you need to grab your trainers and run down to boots to pick one up! "London" is a nude brown which is obviously very popular right now ( I adore these 90's vibes) and its definitely a shade I will be buying again and again. I would 100% recommend trying out this lip cream.

What are you favourite everyday lipstick? Have you tried any of these?

Rainbow Rice Krispie Squares

Friday, 12 August 2016

Rice krispie cakes are a kids party favourite. They are easy to make and super easy. We usually make milk chocolate ones and although they are very yummy, they are slightly boring. But I found a recipe very similar to this one on pinterest the other day, I just altered it a little bit so that its easier to make.

You will need :

Rice Krispies 90g

White chocolate 150g

mini pink & white marshmallows 100g

sprinkles to top

Prep time: 15 minutes

Directions:

1. Break up the chocolate and add them to a glass bowl over a pan of boiling water & stir until its melted.

2. Add in a handful of mini marshmallows and stir until they have softened a bit.

3. In a large bowl, combine the rice krispies with the melted chocolate and marshmallows little by little until the mixture is entirely coated.

4. Add some sprinkles to the mixture and stir them in until combined.

5. Spread out the mixture into a square or rectangle pan.

6. Decorate the top with sprinkles and the remaining marshmallows and leave it to set.

7. Cut up the rice krispies into little squares and they are ready to eat.

I hope you liked this quick, little recipe. Its something easy and fun to make one afternoon.

My current eyebrow routine & favourites

Wednesday, 10 August 2016

I love doing my eyebrows and Im one of those people who feel naked with bare brows. Ive only been filling in my brows for about 3 year years and Ive used quite a few good (and some terrible) eyebrow products. I tend to switch up my brow products a lot and I love finding new ones to try. Im currently eyeing up the new Benefit eyebrow pencils- they look fab!

I have three items Ive been using religiously lately so I wanted to share them with you...

I finally got my hands on a mini size of gimmebrow. I wear shade #1 and its the perfect match for my dark brows & blonde hair. Gimmebrow comes in three different shades and it volumises, texturises and tints your brows. What I love the most about this brow gel is that you can easily build up the product so if you're feeling a "no-makeup" day just swipe a little bit through your brows to tame them and add some volume & colour. Or if you're into a more bold brow you can add more product for that Cara Delevingne brow.

The loreal genuis kit comes with a tinted wax, a powder and wait for it.. a pair of mini tweezers and a mini angled brush! Why is everything that much cuter in mini sizes?! Anyways, this kit is actually really nice. Its ideal for travelling! If I want to do my brows quickly and more on the bold size I will always use this kit. I just apply some of the wax first and then fill them in with the powder.

The "tint" part of this sounds very intimidating and once you see the felt tip applicator you may think "uh oh" because who really likes the idea of using a felt tip on your eyebrows? But once you swatch it you'll change your mind because the tip is so thin and the colour isnt dark. I like to outline the bottom of my eyebrows with the tint side and then fill them in with the pencil. The pencil is actually the best one Ive tried from the highstreet. Its a lovely waxy consistency but its firm enough not to slide across your face.

Whats your favourite eyebrow products right now?

Zoella Beauty | Sweet Inspirations

Monday, 8 August 2016

I'm a wee bit late to the party but I finally have my hands on some Zoella beauty products! I have one of Zoes travel makeup bags and I love it & use it every time I go away but I have never tried any of her beauty products.
And if you know me, you'll know how obsessed (in a good way, not a creepy way) I am with Zoe. She was one of the first bloggers I ever followed all those years ago. But its only the Sweet Inspirations range that has really caught my eye.
The range has 8 different beauty products all smelling of macarons and the packaging is so chic- I love it!
I only picked up 3 items because Superdrug has a 3 for 2 offer on and I couldnt just pick up one now could I?!! But Im definitely going to be buying more of the products next time Im in town.

I had to pick up the body cream because everyone has been talking about how nice it is and Im a huge fan of body lotions. Its a sweetly nourishing macaron scented body lotion with sweet almond oil, cacao and honey to leave your skin feeling beautifully soft, silky and smelling totally irresistible.
I hadnt tried this until I wrote that description and I just had to try it there and then and it really does smell delicious. This may sound weird but it kinda reminds me of a vanilla dessert and who doesnt want to smell like a dessert!?

Im really looking forward to using this because you can use it in the bath and shower, I love 2-in-1 products! This bath and shower milk comes in an adorable plastic milk bottle container thats just going to look lush in my bathroom.
The Bath Latte is enriched with nourishing sweet almond, cacao and honey that will leave your skin feeling beautifully soft, silky and smelling totally irresistible.

I wasnt even planning on buying one of the body mists but as soon as I smelt it there was no way I was leaving without it!
This body mist smells like the entire Sweet Inspirations range & its very sweet so if you're like me and you love sweet scents then you will love this too. And if not, the bottle will just look very pretty on your dressing table.

Have you tried anything from the Sweet Inspirations collection?

12 movies for a girls night in

Friday, 5 August 2016

Theres nothing I love doing more than spending the night in with my girlfriends or with my sisters watching films. We use to do this all the time before everyone went their seperate ways working or going to uni. But it is better the older you get because you can chill out with a glass of wine in your hand instead of a lemonade.
There was always a handful of DVD's we would choose from for said "girly night" where we would chill out in my living room gossiping, painting each others nails, pillow fights...you know just the usual.
So, I narrowed down my favourites to 12 films perfect for a girls night.

Burlesque

Scary Movie

10 things I hate about you

LOL

Chalet Girl

Remember Me

The Best Of Me

Step Up

White Chicks

High School Musical

Easy A

Bridesmaids

What are your go-to movie picks for a girls night in?
