My Makeup Wishlist- Autumn Edition

Wednesday, 28 September 2016
Another season equals another makeup wish list, naturally. As a beauty blogger my makeup wish list is pretty much never ending but somehow I managed to crop that list down to 9 products I am dying to get my hands on for this autumn. Most of these are things Ive been wanting to try for years and others are some newer releases I need in my makeup bag.

Have you tried some of these pieces of makeup before? If you have please let me know your thoughts on them and what are some of your makeup wish list products this autumn/fall?

Disclaimer- none of the photos are mine.

8 things to love about autumn

Friday, 23 September 2016
It is officially autumn and it definitely feels like it in the UK. The leaves are starting to fall and the temperature has finally dropped.
Now, I love autumn but I know a lot of people are gutted to see the end of summer but theres so many fun things to love about this season. And naturally I wrote a list of them.

(Photo from pinterest)
1. Cozy nights in with hot drinks, fluffy blankets, good food and Bridget Jones on the tv. Now that just screams autumn and winter to me!

2. Candles. I personally love Yankee Candles but I am dying to try some Bath and Bodyworks candles because they sound absolutely delicious! Marshmallow and pumpkin? Um yes please! Why cant they bring their candles to the UK?! *sad face*

3. Layers. Because nothing feels better than wearing jumpers and cardigans and wooly scarves. Primark have some amazing scarves at this time of year so if you haven't checked any out yet, I highly suggest you pop into Primark for a little nose.

4. Bold lips. This is something relatively new for me because I never had the confidence to wear a bold lip but I am ready to rock a berry lip this autumn!

5. Jackets & Coats. I love leather jackets, bomber jackets, wool coats, rain coats and I have missed wearing them over summer. Im just a sucker for coats and jackets!

6. Autumn walks. This is a major plus of living in the countryside because there are so many pretty places to walk. I love walking down little country lanes when the leaves start to fall- there is nothing prettier.

7. TV shows. Usually autumn is the time for telly shows. Obviously we have GBBO, XFactor, Strictly and Scream Queens season 2 but most importantly I'm a celebrity get me out of here is back!

8. And last but definitely not least, autumn means we are one step closer to Christmas! Woop!

What are some of your favourite things about autumn?

The ride or die makeup tag

Wednesday, 21 September 2016

If you follow beauty bloggers then Im sure you've seen this tag made by Jaclyn Hill floating around the internet recently. Jaclyn made this tag to share and talk about her most loved makeup items. I usually decide whether or not I really want to buy something based on it being another persons favourite product, especially when it comes to expensive items so I love watching or reading tags like this.
I have been wearing makeup for almost 7 years and along the way I have come over some really amazing products that I will continue to buy and cannot live without out.

I have oily/combination skin and I spend years trying to find a decent foundation that lasted more than 4 hours on my skin. I tried the Revlon Colourstay foundation a few years ago and it quickly became my favourite foundation, I would use it religiously until I became bored of it. I swear everyone has used the Estee Lauder double wear foundation at some point and has loved it so last winter I decided to bite the bullet and buy the £30 bottle of makeup.

For mascaras, the maybelline lash sensational is the only thing that makes my lashes really stand out and hold curl all day. It really lengthens my lashes without making them look too clumpy and I always buy the waterproof version because my eye makeup always annoyingly smudges.
As for eyeliner, the L'oreal superliner superstar liquid liner is brilliant! It has a felt tip pen so you have perfect control over how thick or thin you want your line. It last a good 10-12 hours without smudging and its a really dark black colour.

I recently bought the Benefit Goof-Proof eyebrow pencil after hearing so many girls raving about how great it is and I agree with them. It really is the easiest eyebrow pencil I have tried. One end is a eyebrow brush and the other is the pencil itself. The pencil is so creamy and pigmented so filling in your brows is super easy. I honestly doubt I would ever stop using it and paired with the Benefit Gimmebrow you have some beautiful brows.

For eyes, the best primer I have tried is the Urban Decay primer potion. If you have eyelids that are slightly on the oily side this primer completely controls that. When I use it my eyeshadow will look as good at the end of the day as it did first thing in the morning. For face primers, I love Benefit Porefessional. I have used it for years and I am probably on my 3rd or 4th tube. It does an amazing job at blurring out large pores and imperfections and it controls oil throughout the day. I love using it on no makeup days too to mattify my t-zone and a little goes a long way.

My first ever high-end makeup palette was the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette and I immediately fell in love with it. It had travelled with me for years because you have enough shades to create any look. I love the gold shades and how pigmented the shadows are. Another eyeshadow palette I adore is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette. First of all it smells incredible and the colours are all shades that I wear often. These are some of the most buttery and creamy shadows I have used and its definitely worth the money in my opinion. As for single shadows, the Makeup Geek eyeshadow pans are out of this world! My favourite shades are shimma shimma, creme brulee, grandstand, bitten and showtime. They are all extremely pigmented and they are so affordable. Compared to the MAC shadows that are almost double the price they are 100x better. They aren't chalky at all and the colour range is just fab! Another eyeshadow favourite of mine is the Maybelline colour tattoos in pink gold and on and on bronze. They are the perfect base for shadow and you can wear them alone for a quick makeup look. They are so easy to blend out and they last for hour and hours. Im not sure about them lasting 24hrs, Ive never worn eyeshadow for that long.

This part is hard because I am a total lip product addict. I buy far too many and I usually love them all. But if I had to narrow down my favourites to a few it, MAC Modesty, Brave and Hue would definitely make the list. MAC lipsticks smell amazing and are my all time favourite formula of lipstick. A recent favourite lip product of mine is the NYX soft matte lip cream in the shade London. Its a perfect brown shade which is so in right now- I love the 90's trends coming back.

For setting powder the Rimmel stay matte powder is perfect and for £3.99 you cant really ask for more. I always buy the translucent one and it doesn't matter what face powder I try I will always come back to this one.  For highlighter MAC soft & gentle is popping! I am fairly new to the highlighter scene however this is by far the best one I have tried. Every time I wear it at least one person comments on how nice it looks.
When it comes to blush, I only use powdered ones and my faves are  Makeup Geek blush in spellbound and soulmate. Spellbound is a beautiful muted pink and soulmate is a mauve which is perfect for autumn and winter. Again it is so affordable and as with all makeup geek products they are very pigmented.

2 MAC lipsticks for this autumn

Monday, 19 September 2016
Left- Brave. Right- Modesty

I love lipsticks. MAC is my favourite brand to buy lipsticks from. First of all they smell bloody amazing! And secondly, the formula, packaging and colour range is great.

And now that autumn is here, I have stepped away from the baby pinks and coral lips and back towards the deeper nudes and mauve shades.

Brave and Modesty are hands down my favourite lipsticks. I am a huge fan of nude lips because it can go with any look, its just easy to wear and I think it really complements pale skin. And Im aware that they both look very similar in these photos but they are very different once you swatch them.

MAC Brave
Brave is quite a deep, beige-nude with a pink undertone but it goes on more brown than it shows in the tube. Its also a satin finish so its not completely matte which Im a fan of because my lips get dry very quickly. It is very flattering for very pale skin and also deeper and more tanned skin tones.

MAC Modesty
Unlike Brave, Modesty is a cremesheen formula and I think its perfect for the colder months because it had that extra little boost of hydration. For me, its a perfect "my lips but better" shade and I am all over that! Its a pretty muted pink with grey undertones and overall its very easy to wear.

A mini Maybelline haul

Thursday, 15 September 2016

If you've been following me on twitter you'll know that I haven't been very well again (you can read why here). So how could I possibly cheer myself up? By buying 4 new lipsticks. Why 4 you ask? Because they were buy 1 get the 2nd half price in Boots and I couldnt choose between the four shades.

Sidenote: Ive got a Sea Salt & Sage candle burning as Im writing this and it smells heavenly!

Ive been seeing so many people talking about the new Maybelline vivid matte liquid lipsticks and I naturally wanted to see what the hype was about.

I bought the shades 45 possessed plum, 25 orange shot, 50 nude thrill and 05 nude flush

This liquid lipstick comes in 8 shades and they are some of the cheapest liquid lipsticks on the market at £6.99 each. The shades range from a deep plum to a pink nude.

"Vivid matte pigments give high-impact colour for a velvety matte finish, in a comfortable, creamy formula. Our flexible, slanted tip applicator with ultra-soft bristles makes it easy to contour and shape your lips."

For a stained long-lasting finish just blot your lips when you're done and for a more bold and glossier finish just apply more. So far I have only worn 45 possessed plum and I really like it. I never usually wear bold lips but Ive been trying to step out of my comfort zone and this is the perfect shade for doing that. These lipsticks are very pigmented, they are creamy and easy to apply and they are actually rather long-wearing but I'll keep you updated with what I think.

Have you tried these matte liquid lipsticks?
